- Rated 1 out of 5by captain cool, 8 years agomonths ago I left the best rating I've ever written for this app. That was before I used it much. yeah, works great for a few downloads. once you hit a big number, every 100 downloads it pops up with "congradulations you've downloaded 100 videos." at that point it cancels all downloads, just to bring you that congrats. if youre downloading multiple large videos and that pops up, you can count on them being deleted. This app has a lot of potential, but with that feature you can count on many of your downloads being cancelled. To the app developer, you may not realize it, but that feature is cancelling downloads and pissing off people who would otherwise give your app a 5 star rating.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox-man, 8 years agoYour add on is called downloadHelper not downloadaggregator, I want to download the file not convert it, if it is going to download as one audio file and one video file, that's fine by me, it can easily played with a decent player with no converting, make it the default settings then give the option to "aggregate", make it easy to access the separate streams not leave it hidden deep in windows, you are forcing most people to go the aggregation path and pay money, not only I waited 30-40 min for downloadHelper to join the audio and video file, it gave me a 30% file size compared to the original and you slammed a huge watermark on it, that's crap, never going to use this crap of yours again or recommend it to others.
No, Pizza-dude, there is nothing to be grateful for here, I got this software as a free wrorkaround and the dev is making sure to fool people making them think they have to pay money to get what they already have on their PC, the converting is not needed, it's part of the scam. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13773178, 8 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13772272, 8 years agoI'm glad VDH is working again. It wasn't working for a long time. There's just one problem. When a download fails, I can't refresh it (so that it picks up where it left off). Some other downloaders, especially with Google Chrome, pick up where the failed download stopped.
Please adjust your downloader so we can refresh our downloads when they fail.
Thank you kindly, in advance. - Rated 1 out of 5by Jessika, 8 years ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13766882, 8 years agoThis requires an additional program to work. But what's worse, this add-on also puts a big ugly QRcode in the upper left of the video. The QRcode points you to the developer's webpage. While this might be alright for some people, it is not alright for others. Disclosing this information prior to downloading might have made me not waste time on this add-on and the required accompanying program.
Videos originate with a file, and that file is referenced on the webpage. This add-on takes a relatively simple task and makes it overly complicated. There are other options, this option is terrible. They have an overly complex conversion system that they obviously wasted a ton of time on. Most people won't use a conversion system, but for those who would use it, they certainly wouldn't put up with a video that has a huge ugly QR code in the corner...
My guess is that the only reason this add-on doesn't directly download any video file is that it "needs" to slap that QRcode in the corner... So they purposely add more complexity and complications in order to ruin the resulting video.
Mozilla really needs a better review process. ANY review that doesn't mention this QRcode or the required additional program is obviously a shill rating. Again, the problem isn't the existence of those two issues, it's that they don't tell you that they have those two issues (because they are undoubtedly issues of their own making) Not recommended. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13760620, 8 years ago
